With a person-centered holistic approach, I provide therapy and resources for various challenges and mental health diagnoses to individuals and families, from adolescents to middle-aged adults, as well as couples counseling and parenting education, in a safe atmosphere that facilitates the development of individuals through critical thinking, active learning, and the integration of faith and knowledge.
In-network with most insurance companies, such as Ambetter, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and United Healthcare. Other financial options are available for those without insurance or who prefer not to file through insurance.

VISION
To bridge the gap from research to practice, filling the need for maternal mental health and substance abuse support while strengthening families and supporting healthcare professionals.
WHY
Earlier in my life, the infamous quote about “being who you needed when you were younger,” stuck with me. (Teen pregnancy, ACE score of 9, blended family struggles, family members’ addiction, family trauma, etc.) In 2015, I began the journey of what I wanted to be when I grew up, and those doors continued to open, each at the perfect time--I began in the birth field and saw a need for “more,” which led me to psychology, family science, social work, and therapy.
FOUNDATION
A former co-worker told me I was a “different kind of Christian,” which was the best compliment I have ever had and one that I feel is extremely fitting.
- God often reminds me of the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4), which is the foundation for my beliefs—we are to accept one another, regardless of the circumstances or differences.
- Hebrews 2:18, “for those who have been tested can help those who are suffering.”

My name is Ashley, and I am a Mental Health Therapist, an Adjunct Instructor of Psychology and Family Science, and a Support Coordinator for Postpartum Support International. I have a passion for supporting individuals and families experiencing life stressors and have proven to work effectively with people from all racial and ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations.
I desire to come alongside, challenge, and encourage others to find healing emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually while treating each person as unique and worthy of acceptance, regardless of their circumstances.

Educational Background
As a former Birth and Postpartum Doula, I am passionate about family well-being, perinatal mental health, and psychiatric care. I am a Marriage and Family Therapy doctoral candidate and have a master’s degree from Baylor University’s Diana R. Garland School of Social Work with a Clinical focus and a bachelor’s degree in Family Science with a minor in Psychology from Mississippi University for Women. Additionally, I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Perinatal Mental Health Provider.
My practice interests include academia and clinical social work, including ADHD, trauma, childhood adversity, and maternal mental health; hence my diverse educational background, and the formation of Barksdale Missions, LLC.
